The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between social capital components and mental health. The study emphasizes Putnam theory (social capital) and Adler theory (mental health). The methodology is based on the purpose of the survey and is based on Goldberg (mental health) and researcher-made (social capital) standardized questionnaires. According to Cochran's formula, the sample size was 384 people, which is based on the error of 0.05, the sample size is 400 people. The method of stratified random sampling and Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the questionnaire were equal (0.811)، reliability of independent variable (0.730) and dependent variable (0.756).The results showed that mean social capital of students was 2.89 slightly above average (59%) and mental health was 3.34 higher than average (74%).Among the mean components of social capital, respectively, the indicators (relevance, trust, support, participation) and the mean of the dependent variable components of the indicators (mental health and physical health) were the most important. The results of correlation coefficient between social capital and its components with mental health were positive and significant at the significant level of 0.01.The results showed that gender and marital status were significantly correlated with mental health variables and the mean of women and married people was higher than men and other marital status groups. Independent and dependent variables were not significantly correlated with students' field of study and their personal income. The results of regression indicated that the components of communication, participation, trust, support with the highest beta had an effect on explaining the dependent variable and about (0.406) social capital had moderate effect on mental health, and path analysis results indicated indirect component effect. Support, trust, communication, and participation in mental health were obtained, respectively.
