The effect of life satisfaction on the athletic success of adolescent taekwondo practitioners

Abstract

One of the hallmarks of mental health is life satisfaction, which plays an important role in the success of athletes. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between life satisfaction and athletic success of adolescent taekwondo practitioners. The present research is quantitative and has been done by survey method and is applied in terms of purpose. The method of data collection is field and using a questionnaire. The statistical population of the study was adolescent female taekwondo fighters in the selection competitions of the Iranian national team (283 people). According to Cochran's formula, 163 people were randomly selected as the statistical sample of the study. The research tools included Diner Life Satisfaction Questionnaire (1999) and the selected results of the national youth taekwondo team. To determine the validity, 15 experts in the field of sports management were used. In order to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach's alpha was used and Cronbach's value was 0.95. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (data normality check) and Spearman correlation and mean measurement were used to analyze the data; For this purpose, SPSS software has been used. The results showed that life satisfaction was correlated with sports success. Life expectancy is also high among female adolescent taekwondo practitioners. According to the results, it can be said that sports managers should focus on the effect of life satisfaction on athletes 'behavior, while communicating more with them, pay more attention to athletes' feelings, so that they can reduce their behavioral abnormalities and cause sports success. And provide them morally.
