The effect of cultural capital and its dimensions on health-oriented lifestyle (Study case: secondary school teachers of the 7th district of Mashhad)

Abstract

Choosing cultural goods and cultural opportunities leads to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of this article is the relationship between cultural capital and health-oriented lifestyle, emphasizing the theory of Bourdieu and Cockerham. In terms of the method, a quantitative approach based on a survey strategy (descriptive-correlation), relying on a standardized questionnaire based on the Likert spectrum among 250 teachers of the first and second secondary schools, in the form of simple random cluster sampling at the level of 7 districts of the city Mashhad, the findings have been collected. Cronbach's alpha of the whole questionnaire was equal to (0.762) and the total convergent validity was equal to (0.535). The results of descriptive and inferential statistics based on Spss software have analyzed the desired findings. Descriptive findings indicate that the averages of cultural capital status (4.30) and health-oriented lifestyle (4.42) among citizens in The average limit has been high. And among the components of the research variables, the component of interpersonal relations (4.68) and the component of regulated capital (5.23) have been more important. The variables of age group, educational group, economic and social base (class) are related to the research variables. have been meaningful.The results of Spearman's correlation (0.588) The regression beta results indicate that cultural capital (0.535), objectified capital (0.336), embodied capital (0.231), regulated capital (0.201), respectively, along with the value of correlation coefficient (0.589) They have been able to explain the independent variable along with its dimensions in about 33% of the health-oriented lifestyle changes and the dependent variable. show that the relationship between the main variables is moderate, positive and significant. In the end, cultural assets as tangible goods can be the determining factors of benefiting from healthy life opportunities and the basic choice of factors within the structural framework of a health-oriented lifestyle
