Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the participation of agricultural beneficiaries in pressurized irrigation projects and to investigate the factors affecting this participation. The issue of participation of agricultural beneficiaries is one of the topics discussed in sociology, and pressurized irrigation projects are also among the projects of Agricultural Jihad and one of the topics in the field of water science and engineering. In the present study, we have tried to establish a relationship between the two disciplines of water science and engineering and sociology and to participate in the implementation of pressurized irrigation projects. In this study, a survey research method has been used. In order to collect data among 6073 agricultural beneficiaries in Khorram Darreh city, we first conducted our sampling by proportional stratified sampling method and then simple random sampling and conducted it using a questionnaire and interviews. After testing the hypotheses, it was found that the variables of social cohesion, social satisfaction, social trust, social awareness, distance of land from the center of the village and area of agricultural land have a significant and direct relationship and the variables of social attitude, level of education and garden area of agricultural beneficiaries have a significant and inverse relationship with the dependent variable. It was also found that the variables of age, amount of water rights and water supply have no significant relationship with the dependent variable. In multivariate regression analysis, it was observed that the variables of social awareness, social trust, social satisfaction, social attitude and social cohesion explain 30% of the changes in the dependent variable.
