Abstract
This study employed a grounded theory approach to conduct an in-depth exploration of married women's lived experiences and perceptions regarding family values transformation in Rasht, Iran. Through purposeful sampling with maximal variation (across age, education, marital duration, and employment status), 22 participants were selected until theoretical saturation was achieved. Data collection utilized in-depth semi-structured interviews, with concurrent analysis via constant comparative method involving open, axial, and selective coding. Findings revealed that value transformation occurs within a complex nexus of interacting economic, socio-cultural, and relational factors. Financial status emerged as a pivotal element, where adverse economic conditions exacerbated intra-familial tensions. Women's employment functioned not only as financial empowerment but also fundamentally reshaped traditional gender roles, enhanced decision-making authority, and redefined social norms. The transformation manifests as a multifaceted, dynamic, and context-dependent phenomenon arising from the complex interplay of structural (economic, cultural) and interpersonal (relationship quality) factors, reflecting participants' lived experiences amidst contemporary Iran's societal transformations.
