Informal settlements, formed outside conventional urban planning systems, often suffer from inadequate urban furniture standards. This study explores the quality of urban furniture in Khalilabad neighborhood, located in the northwest of Tabriz metropolis. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with residents and analyzed using content and thematic analysis. The findings highlight poor asphalt conditions, a lack of sufficient trash bins, inadequate lighting, insufficient amenities at bus stops, the absence of parks and green spaces, and a disorganized urban landscape, all significantly below standard levels. Residents expressed widespread dissatisfaction with the current situation. Key contributing factors include unauthorized constructions, neglect by authorities, insufficient budgeting, economic constraints, lack of supervision, poor communication between residents and officials, high population density, and inadequate urban planning. These issues have resulted in reduced quality of life, diminished social interactions, increased living expenses, and social challenges. The study emphasizes the urgent need for targeted policy-making and planning to address these deficits. Enhancing urban furniture in such settlements could significantly improve the residents' quality of life, promote social cohesion, and mitigate broader socioeconomic issues. These findings provide valuable insights for urban development strategies in informal settlements.
