[English]

With the increase in life expectancy and the increase in the elderly population, . The present study aimed to study the role of resilience and sleep quality in the mental health of the elderly. The present research design is a correlational research. From the statistical population of the elderly in Tabriz, 173 people were selected using a Convenience sampling method based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was done using Connor and Davidson's Resilience Scale, Goldberg's General Health Questionnaire, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale. Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Finding showed that the relationship between all components of resilience (Perception of competence, Trust in instincts, Accepting change positively, perception of control, and spiritual influences) and mental health was significant. The relationship between sleep quality components (Subjective sleep quality, Sleep latency, Sleep disorders, Sleep duration, and Daytime dysfunction) and mental health is significant. The results of the study show that resilience and sleep quality can predict 39% of changes in the mental health of the elderly. The results of this study highlight the importance of paying attention to resilience and sleep quality in improving the mental health of the elderly.
