Institutions, including law and contracts, can foster trust between individuals and organizations by imposing standards of conduct, procedures, and competencies, thereby contributing to the formation of a legal lifestyle in society. Considering this, the present study aims to review the relevant literature on trust and propose a structural-interpretive model of the factors influencing trust in notary offices. Given the limited number of notary offices in the statistical population, the study sought to ensure the comprehensiveness of diverse perspectives by incorporating the views of all notaries and deputy notaries as experts in this field. According to the findings, the first-level variables identified include the ease and acceleration of administrative document procedures, transparent and law-abiding performance of notary offices, the credibility of notary offices and official documents in the judiciary, the formalization of documents within the notary office, public reassurance in document drafting, compliance with individuals' legal rights in official contracts, full legislative support for official documents, the legal benefits of legitimate transactions, notaries’ accountability for drafted documents, and the regulation of legal relationships between individuals. Second-level factors include the accessibility of document records, trust in notary office employees, and the technical and legal robustness of documents. The advisory role of notaries and deputy notaries for the public constitutes the third-level factor. Additionally, the security of document preservation and the trustworthiness of notary offices have been identified as fourth-level variables in the structural-interpretive modeling.Accordingly, as key elements in shaping the legal lifestyle framework, notary offices can contribute to establishing a secure and law-abiding environment for individuals and organizations.
